Once a year Vienna is transformed into a melting pot for design, with almost 100 events at over 60 locations. The range represents a broad and lively mix - exhibitions, installations in public spaces, discussion events, a film programme, workshops and networking platforms all jostle for attention. Arguably the single product which most memorably embodies design is the chair, which is exactly why we have placed it centre stage. Painted in a striking new colour every year, it is not just a living logo, but also plays the main role in communication or becomes an easy-to-recognise type of location branding - the many different chairs painted in the same colour communicate exactly what Vienna Design Week stands for.
